A Scotsman was arrested by Indian police yesterday after he was accused of helping terrorists in a remote mountain province to wage a guerrilla war against the New Delhi government.

Edinburgh-born David Ward, 41, a convicted bank robber who once escaped from a UK prison, was taken into custody in the isolated mountain state of Nagaland, northern India, during a routine roadcheck by the police and military.

Nagaland blast kills one, injures four

Kohima: One person was killed and four others were injured when an explosive material went off at a scrap dealer’s shop in Burma camp area of Nagaland’s Dimapur district in the night, police said.

Police said the blast occured when the shop owner’s son tried to break a cylindrical metal object, which turned out to be an explosive. He died on the spot.

Police, who combed the shop after the explosion, recovered nine more such explosives.

NLFT gunmen kill 3 in Tripura

Agartala Banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), a Christian Terrorist group funded and supported by American Missionaries, ultras gunned down three tribals including a woman, in Tripura. Last week, 6 were murdered by the same group.

Police in Agartala said heavily armed NLFT guerillas shot dead two tribals at Manu in Dhalai district, while another youth was killed at Khowai in West Tripura.

Christian NLFT militants massacre six

Agartala: National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) militants, a violent Christian terrorist group supported by Western Missionaries, raided a village in Dhalai district, gunning down at least six non-Christians persons and leaving a child seriously injured.

Police said the tribal guerillas raided Kachuchara village and attacked several houses. Six villagers died on the spot while a child was seriously injured in the attack.

The child has been admitted to hospital.

Students withdrawn from Christian hostel
